Hello, in this section you can find out a bit about me - Phil Dyer - my qualifications and experience. Firstly though, let me congratulate you on your upcoming wedding, may it be long lasting, happy and bring you all that you wish for.

I have always lived in and around the MK area and moved to my current home in Bradwell Village just over 18 years ago. This is home to me, my wife of 29 years and our two grown up children - when they are home from University.

Photography had always been an interest but one which I only started to develop seriously, 20 years ago, with a city & guilds course at Bletchley College.

Having completed the C&G course, I began my training in wedding photography with a large local studio. At the time I don't think I realised how lucky I was but I now know that training like this is nigh on impossible for new photographers to find; I was able to spend a whole year shadowing their established photographers while gradually being allowed to take responsibility for more and more elements of the day's shooting. Eventually I was ready to shoot solo and spent another ten happy years covering weddings for them.

Towards the end of my time at the studio I felt that I wanted to move away from the more traditional, posed style - that was to an extent dictated by the use of medium-format film cameras - and towards a more relaxed approach incorporating greater informal and documentary elements.

In 2005 I took the plunge, converted to digital and started working for myself under the name “People Photo” . Thankfully the new style proved popular and the wedding bookings have continued to come in; to date I have shot somewhere in the region of 150 weddings under the “People Photo” banner in addition to the 300+ previously shot for the studio.

Of course trends continue to develop and each couple will have their own preferences so I am always happy to adjust my style to suit your needs; it is after all your wedding day and not my photo shoot.

For those who like to see a professional qualification I should also mention that I am a member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers and have gained their Licentiate distinction along with a few competition gold awards.
